Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is one of my favorite events at Walt Disney World. Why do I love it? Here are my top 4 reasons.

Even adults like to dress up for the party!

Lower Crowds

Party tickets are limited to a certain number of guests, which is less than what they would allow on a typical park day. These lower crowds mean less wait time for attractions! For me, the lower wait times are one of the biggest draws to go to a party. Another part of this reason is there are no Lightning Lanes sold during the party, so guests move through the regular line and the constant flow of loading the attractions make the wait times lower overall.

Boo to You Parade

While I am not typically a person who loves parades on a normal day, I do love a Disney parade. Boo to You is one of the best I have seen and has one of the catchiest tunes there is. It gets me in the seasonal mood every time I hear it. My favorite parts of this parade are the Grave Diggers and the Dancers. Check the video below for a sampling of more of the parade.

Trick or Treating

Who doesn’t love free candy (okay, included in this case…you do have to pay for a party ticket)? There are locations all around Magic Kingdom to get candy and you can go through them an unlimited amount of times. This means you can get as much as you want. I am not someone who needs a suitcase full of candy to bring home at the end of my trip, but I have definitely seen pictures of people who have done this. I have never filled up the bag they give me, but getting candy is also not my top priority, even if it is fun.

Castle Show and Fireworks

The party is the only place you can see these special shows. The Jack Skellington puppet at the beginning of the fireworks show is a must see for any Nightmare Before Christmas fan. I also love the Villans and Hocus Pocus mash-up during the stage show, too, and definitely recommend

This photo is a top Disney memory for me….we happened to be riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and came to the slow ascent just as the party fireworks finale was happening. It was absolutely magical and I don’t think we could time it that way if we tried. Complete luck on our part!
