Sapphire Falls Resort Review

I decided to take a sort of last minute trip to Universal Orlando with my teenage daughters as a last hurrah before school starts (side note: my oldest is going to be a sophomore in high school this year and I am realizing how many summers we have left together, so that was one of the reasons I decided to take this trip). We stayed at Sapphire Falls for the first time and I thought it would be great to share my thoughts!

Why Universal?

If you love true thrill rides and roller coasters, Universal does this better than Disney. We are all huge Disney fans, but we also love thrill rides. We are also big fans of the Harry Potter books, so Universal is a fun destination for the 3 of us.

Why Sapphire Falls?

Honestly, I picked this resort because it fit in the budget I had for this trip. I prefer to stay at one of the 3 resorts that include the Express Unlimited Pass, but since we were there at the end of July when the parks aren’t as busy as they are during other times of the year and we had 3 full days in the parks, we didn’t feel like we needed the pass. I said I would never go back without the Express Unlimited Pass again, but it was honestly fine waiting in the regular queue or using the Single Rider line.

Sapphire Falls is a beautiful resort and has the largest pool of any of the on property resorts.

The other main reason I chose this resort over others is the boat access to the parks. You can walk, but taking the boat is much easier and more convenient since you go through security prior to getting on the boat and are dropped off right near the park entrances in CityWalk.

This resort has a coffee shop with some quick food options and this is where we grabbed breakfast each day. It also has a full service restaurant, room service, and food by the pool. We chose to eat either in the parks or in CityWalk for our other meals, but I definitely want to try Amatista’s Cookhouse sometime.

The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. We were in House 3 which was very convenient to the lobby and transportation.

(I forgot to take a picture of our room, but this is what it looked like!)

Would I stay here again? YES! I really liked it, even though it is one of the biggest Universal resorts, it didn’t feel that way to me. I loved the theme and it was very convenient getting to the parks.
