The Best Sit Down Restaurant in each Walt Disney World Theme Park (according to Lisa)

Dining reservations are one of the most popular aspects of planning a Walt Disney World vacation. People always ask me where they should eat, so I thought it would be fun to share my personal favorite non-character sit down (or as they are known at Disney, table service) restaurant in each park!

Magic Kingdom: Liberty Tree Tavern

This was actually the easiest one for me to answer for a few reasons. First, there aren’t that many table service restaurants in this park and while it is my favorite park, it has my least favorite food overall. Second, this restaurant has one of the best desserts I have eaten, and if you know me, that is important 🙂 I have eaten here multiple times and never regretted it.

So what is your dining experience like at Liberty Tree Tavern? First you check in and there are usually plenty of places to sit. Then a cast member will call your family using a “Hear Ye! Hear Ye!” announcement and you are taken to your table.

The decor is Old America with wooden tables and chairs of varying different styles.

This is a family style restaurant, which means plates and bowls of the offered selections are brought to your table for your party to share. This means everyone is charged a set fee for your meal. **Secret tip here: if you have a picky eater like I do, you can order chicken fingers and fries if you ask nicely!

You are first brought rolls and salad, and then the main meal includes turkey, pork, pot roast, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, and a seasonal vegetable (which has always been green beans when I have eaten there).

Dessert is sticky toffee pudding…make sure you save plenty of room for this! While they do bring you what they determine is enough for your party, if you want more of any specific item, all you have to do is ask!

Hollywood Studios: Roundup Rodeo BBQ

I try my best to eat at every restaurant in each park so I can give honest feedback and this is one I want to go back and experience again. Roundup Rodeo BBQ is the newest restaurant at Hollywood Studios and is located in Toy Story Land. When you enter this land, it is supposed to feel like you shrink to the size of a toy and the cast members even call you toys. The theme of this restaurant is obvious, but the bright colors and oversized characters give it a lot of charm.

One fun aspect of this restaurant is you can choose to “ride” to your table on a horse. They even let the adults in on it, but you do have to ask. We all galloped through the restaurant and had a lot of fun.

The biggest downfall to this restaurant is it is pretty dark. Pictures don’t turn out super well and it was a little hard to read the menu at times. It is also pretty loud since it is basically one big open room. The characters voices come on the speaker every so often and say different things, but it was often hard to hear them over the crowd. Personally, I think they missed the mark when they didn’t make this a character meal. It would have fit perfectly. Hopefully they will reconsider someday.

The food is served family style, but you do have some choices when it comes to your sides and dessert. My favorite side was definitely The Married Spuds, which are loaded tots.

The cheddar biscuits with pepper jelly were so popular at our table we asked for more.

The barbeque was good (not the best I have had, but we are spoiled with some excellent barbeque restaurants in my area) and there was more than enough food for everyone.

Dessert was a choice of mini mason jar desserts, or the “kids” dessert, which is this adorable Forky themed cupcake. We all tried a different pie flavor and also had a cupcake on the table. I had the lemon and blueberry cheesecake and it was delightful.

I am already making plans to come back here during my next trip, so I hope the experience delivers again.

Animal Kingdom: Tiffins

This was actually pretty difficult for me to choose because my true favorite sit down meal in this park is a character meal and I am not talking about those this week. And if I am going to Animal Kingdom, I am probably going to eat quick service food because it has the best options out of all 4 parks, in my opinion. BUT, if you are looking for a nice or special meal, Tiffins is absolutely my choice. The decor is unique and lovely and the food was very good, as was the service.

The menu is not extensive, so definitely take a look before booking a reservation. If you like short ribs, I highly recommend thinking about that as your entree!

Epcot: Le Cellier Steakhouse

With all the food options at Epcot, it is really hard to go wrong with any restaurant choice (with a few exceptions…I make sure my clients know my thoughts). But when I think of places I have been more than once and that stand out to me, Le Cellier is the one I would choose to go back to again and to recommend for a nice dinner.

Walking up to the restaurant is very beautiful and it is set to look like you are eating in the cellar of a cozy Canadian château. They are well known for their cheddar cheese soup, as well as their variety of steaks, seafood, and poutine. I personally love the pretzel bread included in the basket to dip in my soup.

And since you are in Canada, why not have a maple crème brûlée for dessert!

Have you dined at any of these restaurants? What are your favorites?
