How Do I Choose an All Inclusive Resort
One of the things I spend a lot of time on is matching my clients to the right all inclusive resort. There are SO MANY different options on different islands that it can definitely be overwhelming when you start your research. I will say this is a fantastic reason to hire a travel advisor because I narrow down the choices for you based on the conversation we have about your vacation wishes and I always welcome the opportunity to work with you! But here are a few free suggestions from me, the professional.
What is the most important thing to you?
Is it a beautiful beach and blue waters? Is is amazing food? It is lots of activities? Do you love to golf or scuba dive? There are definitely resorts that have it all, but sometimes those come with a bigger price tag than you want to spend. So, picking the one thing that is most important to you can help you narrow down the options.
What airport are you flying from and how long are you willing to travel?
There are some absolutely beautiful islands in the Caribbean, but not all of them are easy to get to from many cities. If you are lucky enough to live near a large, major airport, you have a bit more flexibility. But, if you are like me and live in the Midwest and always need to book a flight with a connection, you sometimes are looking at an entire day of travel. Cancun, Montego Bay, and Punta Cana seem to be the easiest major resort towns to get to from pretty much anywhere, which also usually means lower prices.
What type of room do you want?
Are you traveling with your family and want a separate space for your kids? Do you care where your room is in the resort? Do you want to see the water from your room? Each resort category is similar but different between the brands, so knowing what you are booking is important. A lot of rooms say ocean view, but what that really means is if you can see even a sliver of water from the window, it is considered an ocean view and that might not be what you really want.
