Royalton Riviera Cancun Review

Today we are hearing from one of Lisa T Travels All Inclusive Vacation Specialists, Kim! She recently spent a few nights on an adults only trip with some friends at the Royalton Riviera Cancun and is sharing her experience. Enjoy!

A Memorable Getaway to the Royalton Riviera Cancun

In March 2025, my husband and I enjoyed a last minute, three-night vacation in Cancun with several other couples. We stayed at the Royalton Riviera Cancun, an all-inclusive resort conveniently located just 15 minutes from the Cancun airport.

Arrival Experience

The check-in process at the main desk was quick and seamless. Upon arrival, we upgraded to the Hideaway Club for an additional fee. This upgrade granted us access to the exclusive adults-only section of the resort, which featured two additional pools, a beach bar, and Dorado, a seafood restaurant.

Luxurious Rooms

Our accommodations were both spacious and comfortable. We stayed in a Luxury Suite with a Terrace Jacuzzi, but every room at the resort includes an in-room jacuzzi as a standard feature. The bathroom boasted a large vanity and a spacious shower with dual shower heads, adding a touch of luxury. The mini-fridge was thoughtfully stocked throughout our stay with our favorite beverages.

Culinary Highlights

The dining experience at the resort was exceptional, offering something for everyone, including those in our group with special dietary restrictions. The Caribbean Restaurant and Grill served as the main buffet, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Despite a short line most mornings, we were always seated within a few minutes.

For lunch, we alternated between poolside dining and sampling meals from the food trucks scattered across the property. The Hideaway pools offered freshly prepared meals daily, with a rotating menu that included fish tacos, burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and fajitas.

Dinner at the à la carte restaurants required reservations, which I recommend making immediately upon arrival. In previous stays at the Royalton, we had experienced the perks of Diamond Club accommodations, which include a personal butler to secure prime dining reservations. This trip, however, we were not in Diamond Club rooms, making it more challenging to find reservations for our group of eight. Despite this, we dined at Hunter Steakhouse, Zen Teppanyaki & Sushi, and Agave Mexican Cuisine.

All were fantastic, though Zen Teppanyaki & Sushi stood out for its delicious food and entertaining Teppanyaki show.

Pools and Entertainment

The resort features four distinct pool areas: the Kids’ Splash Park, the main pools, Diamond Club pools, and Hideaway Club pools. While all guests have access to the splash park and main pools, the other two are reserved for guests who upgrade. During this trip, we spent our time exclusively at the Hideaway adults-only pools. One pool offered a serene atmosphere, perfect for conversation, while the other was lively, hosting daily entertainment and activities.

The entertainment team was outstanding, keeping us laughing and engaged all day. A highlight of our stay was the foam party, complete with a live show.

Evenings at the resort were just as vibrant, with nightly shows held in the outdoor theater near the main pool. The White Party on Friday nights is a must-see, and the resort also hosts weekly events like a silent disco and other entertaining performances.

Final Thoughts

This was our third stay at a Royalton resort and our second visit to the Royalton Riviera Cancun, and every experience has been memorable. Whether you’re planning a family vacation or an adults-only getaway, this resort truly offers something for everyone. I wholeheartedly recommend it to others seeking a perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment.
